CHVLP to Host Ice Cream Social at Summer Movie in the Park

On Sunday, June 7, the CHVLP will be serving ice cream to movie goers at John Meade Park for the city's first annual "Summer Movie Under the Stars". The event, hosted by the Parks, Trails & Recreation Commission and the City of Cherry Hills Village and the Cherry Hills Land Preserve, will begin at 6:30. Resdients are encouraged to bring camp chairs and picnic blankets. The movie is "The Goonies", a kid friendly and engaging classic. The event will be held rain or shine at John Meade Park at Quincy and University. The event is free but donations to the Open Space Fund will be gladly accepted. Receipts will be available for donors. See you there!

BE A PART OF OUR HISTORY
COME HELP US CELEBRATE!

The Cherry Hills Land Preserve will host an event to celebrate the history of Cherry Hills Village on Saturday, April 12, from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. at Kent Denver’s Arts Center. This is the first time copies of the history book, High on Country: A Narrative History of Cherry Hills Village, will go on sale to the community and to the general public. There will be displays, activities, refreshments, and plenty of opportunities to reminisce. The original artwork Kent Lemon created especially for the book will be on sale as well.

The production of High on Country has been a community effort. Klasina VanderWerf is the author, with chapters contributed by Jim Muhm, photography by Lori Autterson, original artwork by Kent Lemon, and book design by Dave Schmidt. Those Villagers planning the event are Lori Autterson, Stephanie Bluher, Phillip Seawalt, Teresa Harbaugh, Rose Lynch, and Klasina VanderWerf.

The story of the Village’s beginnings is fun, lively, and unique. Come learn about it for the first time, or come remember it again. Together, we can make more memories.
