Villagers of all ages delighted in a perfect Autumn day on Sept. 18 touring some of the Village's most spectacular barns for the First Annual Cherry Hills Village Barn Tour. "We're Leaving the Barn Door Open" was the theme of the afternoon as families, friends and neighbors -- many riding bikes -- enjoyed a special peek inside three unique Village barns -- all of which embrace the equestrian lifestyle.
The tour also featured a Birds of Prey Show, riding demonstrations and a Fall Bulb Sale by the CHV garden club. A cocktail party and community social were held the evening before inside the beautiful timber-clad barn of Katy and Paul Rady.
While a downpour sent the committee scrambling, it certainly didn't dampen the spirits of the more than 250 guests in attendance. The evening which raised over $8,000 for the Land Preserve featured wine tasting by Epoch Estate Wines, an Art Auction, and music provided by Kent Denver's student jazz band. Guests were also treated to the first screening of the recently produced video "The Cat Anderson Story -- A Gift of Land" and enjoyed hearing from Cat herself.
A great time was had by all and a big thank you to our sponsors: Steele Street Bank & Trust, Fuller Sotheby's Realty including Nancy and Fred Wolfe, Ann Ludwig, Susie Dews, Janet Kritzer and the Behr Team.
